  • Q What’s the type of power supply do you have?

  • Q What is the difference between a constant voltage and constant current driver
    A A constant voltage driver regulates a specified output voltage. Designs using constant voltage supplies will need to regulate the current in their system. This can be advantageous in applications where the total number of LEDs for an installation is unknown or where added control is desired. A constant current driver regulates a specified output current. Designs using constant current are able to easily connect the driver’s output directly to LEDs without added regulation. This is possible because LEDs respond directly to the current driven through them.

    This is an important issue because a load with a low power factor draws more current than a load with a high power factor for the same amount ofreal power transfered. Low power actor therefore results in greater power sses in the utility ines. There are a number of standards now in effectrequiring certain levels of power factor correction in switch mode power supplies and/or LED drivers.
